Allotment of uniform short code for unsubscribing / Deactivation of any BSNL Value Added service through Toll free Number
Directions from the Telecom Authority of India (TRAI), The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) competent authority has been decided that, Toll Free short code by suffixing ‘99’ to the original short code of VAS (Value Added Services) provider may be used for Deactivation/Unsubscribing of services.
The customer may send SMS to VAS provider (Content Provider) with Deactivation keyword or blank SMS to the newly allotted short code. After Deactivation the VAS provider may be send the confirmation SMS with short code to the sender ID, not with the suffix ‘99’.
There will be no charge for such MO SMS and kept as Zero paise.
The above implementation will be started with immediate effect from onwards 30-06-2012 and the same may be intimated to Customers.
