What is BSNL Safe custody meaning?

When any customer keeps their Landline / Broadband / Fibre / Airfibre connection for more than one month or above period and does not intend to use their landline / Bharat fiber connection without using it by paying nominal charges when they move to other places or holiday trips for a long time. In this period of time customer keeping or applying for 'Plan BSNL Safe Custody' and bsnl disconnection all its services for the requested time period known as BSNL Safe Custody.

BSNL customers instead of disconnecting connections for a long period can keep their existing landline / broadband connection under safe custody by paying nominal charges known to be one of the best feature offerings from bsnl.

Under this safe custody the charges applicable may differ to Rural areas and Urban areas / Metro cities based on technical feasibility and availability or telecom circle decision.

This is one of the disconnecting services where all the services offering broadband / landline / Fibre / Airfibre connections are switched off temporarily for a certain period of time as per customer requested.

What happens when I do not apply for BSNL safe custody plan?

In certain conditions when a customer is not using their services or connection and moves somewhere for a long holiday trip by keeping the connection alive then in this situation the customer needs to pay monthly rental charges as usual. In this period of time if the wired connection is misused by anyone by routing the line and making voice National Roaming calls or International calls then the customer is responsible to pay all the billed amount.

What is the minimum time period to keep a BSNL connection in safe custody

BSNL users can keep their connection under safe custody from one month or above period to time. During this period customers no need to pay actual monthly rental charges; they can restore the services anytime after one month or extend the period further for the full calendar months or year without losing connection.

BSNL revised safe custody charges causing disconnection of FTTH on Copper Landline + Broadband and collecting Rs.50/- per month for Urban and Rs.30/- per month for Rural without change.

How does bsnl bill safe custody charges?

The fixed monthly safe custody charges will be billed every month and customers can pay in advance or at time of restoration of services by removing safe custody service.

At the time of applying Safe custody do we surrender accessories to bsnl?

Users need to surrender or bsnl will recover the ONT modem / CPE / Accessories supplies during the safe custody period by keeping all the customer devices in their custody which are not owned by bsnl customer and using on rental basis.
