After long waiting at-last BSNL has announced to start its 4G services after April, 2017 in sepecific telecom circles across India.
State run Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is likely to start 4G services in 2017-18 financial year, which starts from April, 2017.
As per latest information, BSNL CMD Anupam Shrivastava hinted that BSNL 4G services roll-out and joining in the line of Major telecom players already started 4G operations in selected telecom circles.
In a statement BSNL CMD said, 'We are in process of issuing expression of interest for rolling out 4G services on revenue sharing basis and will provide only bandwidth to technology service provider who will manage and operate 4G services'.
BSNL had already surrendered its 4G spectrum in Gujarat, Andhrapradesh (Telangana), Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Kolkata in 2014 after facing cash crunch.
However, BSNL does not want to purchase 4G base stations, it rather plans to hand over its spectrum and facilities to private parties. The parties will be expected to launch 4G services using the Teleco's existing equipment, network and spectrum after purchasing required new equipment.
